This event is about hearing directly from young people, aged 13 – 25 years old, on their ideas for shaping the future of youth work in Northern Ireland.

The Department of Education has started a review of youth work policy. As young people are key stakeholders in youth work, they are putting their voices at the center of the policy development.

With the help of a Young Person’s Reference Group, they are running 3 events on the theme of ‘A Young Person’s Vision for Youth Work in NI’. This event will take place in Belfast, with others planned for Omagh (August) and Derry/Londonderry (September).

The Omagh event is taking place on Saturday 17^th August, at Omagh Youth Centre. The event will start at 10:30am and finish by 2pm. Lunch will be provided on the day. Individuals can sign-up or groups can register (up to a maximum of 10 young people) but the individual details of each young person will be required. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come/first served basis. If a youth worker plans to attend with a group, they must confirm their attendance by emailing  Youth.Services@education-ni.gov.uk
