If you’re passionate about wildlife, conservation, or engaging communities with nature, Ulster Wildlife have an incredible range of student placements waiting for you!
Each year, full and part-time positions are available across teams for those currently studying conservation, the environment, and community engagement. With dedicated one-to-one support and supervision, working with Ulster Wildlife will give you the opportunity to network with key contacts, learn new skills, receive important on-the-job training and develop transferable skills to aid your progression into employment after your studies.

- NI Marine Task Force Student Placement
Kickstart your experience in marine policy and advocacy with a 12-week placement supporting the NI Marine Task Force. - Marine Restoration Student Placement
Build real skills in community engagement and marine restoration through a one-year placement with the Marine Team. - Nature Reserves Student Placement
Gain practical hands-on experience in managing 21 diverse nature reserves across Northern Ireland with this one-year placement. - Community Engagement Assistant – Bog Meadows Nature Reserve
Build practical skills in youth and community engagement through a year-long placement at Bog Meadows Nature Reserve. - Priority Species Student Placement
A year-long opportunity to assist with Let Nature In, our wildlife gardening campaign, and help achieve positive action for priority species. - Nature Recovery Policy and Spatial Planning Student Placement
Gain experience in marine environmental policy and spatial planning. - Peatlands Research Assistant
Gain experience researching the successes and failures of peat dam installations to inform future restoration planning and design.
You’ll gain real-world experience, build your skills, work alongside expert conservationists, and make a genuine impact on nature across Northern Ireland. Full-time and part-time roles are available to suit your course requirements.
