myEARTH Training & Upskilling Days

We’re happy to launch a series of myEARTH training and upskilling workshops. These sessions aim to provide delivery partners/organisations and users with essential skills in using myEARTH and skills for digital content creation. The workshops will take place throughout May 2025 at NICVA, Belfast, offering hands-on learning experiences guided by expert facilitators. Attendees must book one myEARTH morning session to attend any afternoon sessions.

myEARTH Training for Delivery Partners

Planned for May 2025, this engaging session will help partners navigate the newly rebranded myEARTH platform. The workshop will cover:

  • Overview of the site including its main functions
  • Signing up
  • Creating action cards
  • Uploading resources
  • Viewing impact and collecting data
  • Hands-on learning 

Participants are advised to bring a laptop for a hands on learning experience.

myEARTH Upskilling Workshops

Phone Photography with Neil Keery

Date & Time: Tuesday, 6th May, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

With this course we will focus on utilising your smartphone as a photographic tool. Many modern mobiles provide creative control, which we will explore during the course, covering technical and artistic aspects of photography. The course will marry theory with practical application, so expect to come away from the day with a grasp on how to use composition, lighting, filters and camera settings to tell your story in a powerful evocative manner. Please bring your camera phone.

AI Skills with Jocelyn Burnham

Date & Time: Wednesday, 7th May 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Jocelyn Burnham will provide a playful and neutral introduction to cutting-edge artificial intelligence tools and their potential applications. Participants will build confidence engaging with technologies like video, image, code and text generation through hands-on activities. Core AI concepts and terminology are covered in an approachable way, while open-ended discussions explore the implications of emotional AI, ethics, and using these tools responsibly within environmental organisations. The session aims to balance technical fundamentals with an exploratory, creativity-focused approach to encourage safe, sustainable and enjoyable innovation. Participants leave with tangible next steps for continued self-learning, as well as insights to inspire their own skills development journey.

Canva Foundations with Kerry Hall

Date & Time: Tuesday, 13th May 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

An introduction to Canva, creating designs from scratch, graphic elements, photo editing, Canva for video, exporting and sharing designs, app library, practical exercises.

Podcasting with Jason Burke

Date & Time: Wednesday, 21st May 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Join Jason Burke, historian and host of the Historical Belfast Podcast for a two-hour podcasting session which will explore the process from concept to recording. Learn essential skills including equipment selection, audio editing basics, content planning, and distribution strategies. Whatever your subject matter may be, this interactive session provides practical tools to transform your ideas into a quality podcast. No prior experience required—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm.

 

These workshops present a brilliant opportunity to enhance your myEARTH and personal skills, helping you to better engage with the myEARTH audience and make a greater impact through the website.
