Free Trees for Schools and Communities!
Available with The Conservation Volunteers and Northern Ireland Electricity Networks
The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) are working in partnership with Northern Ireland Electricity Networks to plant trees across Northern Ireland. TCV are offering free trees, advice and planting support to schools and community groups and anticipate supporting around 20 tree planting projects in winter 2024-2025. This project will be ongoing for several years and more trees will be available in autumn 2025.
TCV’s aim is to create small areas of woodland and hedges will be given a lower priority. TCV will also support small orchards, which are planted with heritage verities of fruit trees, which are historically connected to Northern Ireland.
Successful applicants for free trees will receive an advisory site visit to advise on the best tree mix for their site and number of trees required. TCV will then help run a planting event involving the applicant’s members or network to plant the trees.
This project is fully funded by Northern Ireland Electricity Networks.
The Conservation Volunteers are accepting applications until 30th September 2024
