30 Under 30 Profile
Our very own Jack Crone has been selected as part of the 30 under 30 Northern Ireland Climate Change Makers.
Developed by Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful, the 30 Under 30 Northern Ireland Climate Change-Makers programme is designed to unearth, inspire, and equip 30 leaders under the age of 30 who can play an instrumental part in shaping a better climate future for Northern Ireland and beyond.
Jack Crone has been working in the environment sector since 2021. He currently works with us mainly on the Climate NI team within Northern Ireland Environment Link. Here he has:
- Supported the development of policy including the NI Climate Change Adaptation Programme.
- Delivered carbon literacy training to a range of audiences as an accredited Carbon Literacy Facilitator.
- Led on the organisation and facilitation of NI’s first Policy and Research Panel for Climate Change.
- Developed toolkits for organisations creating their first climate action plans.
In his other life Jack is involved in different academic research projects, including a Research England-funded project on Farm-Based Education and a project on large carnivore coexistence. He published his first article of environmental philosophy in the journal ECOS at the start of the year, titled “Why should we believe in the inherent value of nature?”
Jack is thrilled to be part of the 2025 cohort of the Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful 30 Under 30 Climate Changemakers. The programme is designed to “unearth, inspire, and equip 30 leaders under the age of 30 who can play an instrumental part in shaping a better climate future for Northern Ireland and beyond”. He is looking forward to a full programme of empowering workshops, having attended the first of these before Christmas, where the participants discussed finding their ‘why’.
Jack is most looking forward to making lifelong connections with a strong group of peers who are all dedicated to creating a sustainable future for all.
We look forward to following Jacks progress as the programme continues and wish all the participants the best of luck on this great opportunity.
