The Education for Sustainable Development Forum (ESDF) is a network that promotes a co-ordinated approach to the delivery of environmental education in NI. https://www.esdforum.org.uk/ https://www.nienvironmentlink.org/policy-hub/environmental-education/
This year Beth Frazer has been appointed as ESDF officer and the strategy is being delivered upon. It was important that networks be re-established and good foundations set for ESDF to build upon. This work continues and ESDF has been widening our reach through connections with new organisations and their audiences.
The ESDF Newsletter has a new format and subscribers have increased by over 40%. The Newsletter is now also shared through KNIB with all Eco Schools in NI and as always the NIEL subscribers. The ESDF Website has been refreshed to enhance user-friendliness and ease of navigation, with social media now directly linked to the site and featuring regular posts. www.esdforum.org.uk
Substantial efforts continue on the EARTH Huddle project partnered with the lead, Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful. The website launch is on schedule for Spring 2025, complemented by a newly designed logo. A communications and marketing tender has been awarded, and website user testing is ongoing during the construction phase. https://www.esdforum.org.uk/earth-hub-update/
This year’s ESDF Conference, centered on the theme of EARTH Huddle and attracted a diverse audience of around 50 attendees. Additional events are planned for the new year. Collaboration remains crucial to expanding ESDF reach, and new connections are being forged with delivery plans in progress. https://www.esdforum.org.uk/resources/2024-education-for-sustainable-development-forum-conference/
The ESDF Committee maintains its quarterly meeting schedule, supporting above-target e-NGO placements through its efforts. Thanks go to the committee who all have busy schedules but continue to support ESDF and direct towards our work. https://www.esdforum.org.uk/about-us/who-we-are/
Resources have been created, while the work of forum members, along with their resources and projects, have been shared across various platforms. A recent case study call-out has met it’s quota, with plans to share these through the ESDF communications spread out across the coming months. https://www.esdforum.org.uk/our-members/
New plans are in development for 2025 with events, partnerships and resources all in the pipeline. Thank you for the continued interest and support from the Forum members for another year. https://www.esdforum.org.uk/resources/
