Education in Rostrevor & Mourne 26 September 2019

Environmental Education in the Rostrevor & Mourne Area

Liz Farnan, Environmental Educator is now taking bookings for a full suite of Environmental Education programmes mainly based at the Kilbroney Centre, Rostrevor for September 2019 onwards. Programmes for schools booked on residential at the Kilbroney Centre and Castlewellan Castle are also available. It is possible to book some themed workshops or a ‘Biodiversity Day’ with me at your school or a wild space closer to you if it does not suit to travel to Rostrevor. Shared Education Projects are also welcome.

All programmes are cross curricular and themes include:

Explore Woodlands (All Key Stages; all seasons)
Love Bugs (all Key Stages; autumn/spring/summer terms
Pond dipping (KS1 & 2; early September /spring/summer term)
Birds (all key stages; all seasons, includes Bird Murder Mystery)
Habitats (all key stages; all seasons)
Senses (Foundation; all seasons)
Teddy bears picnic (Foundation; spring/summer terms)
Gruffalo Trails (Foundation; autumn/spring/summer terms)
Room on the Broom (KS1; Hallowe’en)
Enchanted Forests (Fairy themed Foundation/KS1; all seasons

Programmes can be tailored to suit individual teacher’s needs. A full day programme at the Kilbroney Centre starting at 10a.m. and finishing at 2 p.m. typically costs £3.50 per pupil, (for a minimum of 20) with a £30 venue charge.
