The Duke Of Edinburgh Legacy Bursary Scheme
Description
As a legacy to His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh, Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is providing an annual bursary scheme to enable, encourage & empower our youth.
Please note: This scheme is different to and NOT linked with the well-known Duke of Edinburgh Award.
The Council is providing a total of twenty bursaries of £1,000 for young people aged 11 – 18. Successful applicants will take part in a 12-week programme (from September to December) to develop numerous personal and life skills which include;
- Volunteering
- Drugs/Alcohol Awareness
- Good Relations
- Money Management
- Sports Activities
- Mental Health Awareness
- Digital Technology
- Animal Welfare
- Fitness & Nutrition
- Photography
On completion of the 12 week programme participants will be able to apply for the £1000 bursary to purchase equipment up to £500 and tuition/training up to £500.
Applications and nominations are now open and will close on Monday 8 June at 4pm.
